Ryan Garcia returned to the winning track in February and confidently dealt with Mario Barrios, taking the victory by unanimous decision. Already in the first round, Garcia knocked down his opponent, and then methodically brought the matter to an end. It was this success that earned him the WBC welterweight championship. Prior to this, Garcia's career path looked much less prosperous. In a duel with Rolando Romero, he lost on points, and he was knocked down in the second round. In 2021, he experienced a difficult moment in a fight with Luke Campbell: he was knocked down in the second round, but then he turned the tide of the meeting and stopped the Briton in the seventh, becoming the interim WBC lightweight champion.

Garcia received his first professional defeat in 2023 from Gervonta Davis — by knockout in the seventh round, having previously been knocked down in the second. His track record also includes wins over Oscar Duarte, Jason Velez, Javier Fortuna, Carlos Morales, Jose Lopez, Braulio Rodriguez, Fernando Vargas Parra and Noe Martinez Raigosa.

Garcia also achieved notable success in the amateur ring: according to reports, he won 215 fights with 15 defeats. In 2014, he won the silver medal at the U.S. National Junior Championships, losing to Haney in the final. A year later, they met again, in the national youth Championship, where Garcia reached the quarterfinals. In 2016, he won gold at the U.S. National Youth Championship.

Conor Benn had his last fight against former world champion Regis Progreis and defeated him by unanimous decision after ten rounds. Before that, the Briton had met Chris Eubank Jr. twice. The first meeting was the only defeat for Benn in his professional career — Eubank won on points. In the rematch that took place seven months later, Benn took a convincing revenge, winning again by decision of the judges.

Benn is 29 years old. Before turning professional in 2016, he boxed among amateurs in Australia and won 20 of 22 fights. At the professional level, the Briton spent 140 rounds, scoring 25 victories, 14 of which were ahead of schedule. Thus, 56% of his victories ended with knockouts. However, Benn has been working the full distance more often lately: in the last five fights and in six of the eight, he had to wait for the judges' decision.

Benn's height is 173 cm, his arm span is 173 cm. He is a strong, physically powerful boxer, although he has had some falls in his career. In 2017, Cedric Painault knocked Benn down twice in the first round. But the Briton passed the test, managed to shake his opponent twice himself — in the fifth and sixth rounds — and won the six-round fight on points.

A year later, Benn defeated Pano again, this time by unanimous decision in a ten-round bout. At that time, the vacant WBA Continental welterweight title was at stake. Subsequently, Benn defended this belt six times. He beat Jussi Koivula and Steve Jamoyer ahead of schedule, beat Sebastian Formella on points, and stopped Samuel Vargas in just 80 seconds in 2021. Then there was a victory over Adrian Granados in ten rounds, knockouts of Chris Algieri in the fourth and Chris Van Heerden in the second.
