Jay Opetaya - Noel Mikaelian: betting tip (cf 1.48) and bets on the fight

Current form

In 2022, Jay Opetaia outboxed Mairis Briedis by unanimous decision and took several serious titles at once, including the IBF. This was followed by an early victory over Jordan Thompson — the Briton did not survive the fourth round. However, Opetai's relationship with the championship belts was not always smooth. In December 2023, he waived his mandatory defense against Briedis, preferring a duel with Ellis Zorro. The decision turned out to be quite understandable from the point of view of a sports career: Zorro was knocked out in the first round. And in May 2024, Opetaia met Briedis again, this time for the vacant IBF belt, and won on points again.

After that, the Australian defended his title five times. His list includes Jack Massey, David Nyika, Claudio Squeo, Hussein Chinkara and Brandon Glanton. Opetaya stopped the first four ahead of schedule, but Glanton turned out to be a tough nut to crack and withstood the entire fight in March. However, the IBF soon stripped Opetaia of his title again, due to his agreement with the Zuffa Boxing promotion company. The boxer has 30 wins, including 23 by knockout, and no defeats. A 31-year-old lefty wins ahead of schedule 76.7% of the time. But apart from Briedis, there weren't many truly world-class rivals in his career. Among the most notable names are Brandon Glanton, David Nyika, Jack Massey, Ellis Zorro, Jordan Thompson, Daniel Ammann, Frankie Lopez, Curtis Pegoraro, Mark Flanagan and Benjamin Kelleher.

The boat is perfectly built for cruiserweight. His height is 188 cm (6 ft 2 in), and his arm span is 193 cm (76 in). He started his professional career in 2015 and has already played 149 rounds. Prior to that, the Australian had managed to collect a solid amateur collection: he competed at the 2012 Olympics in London, became the Australian champion, and won gold at the Junior World Championships. He also won the WBO Global, WBO Asia Pacific, WBA Oceania, IBF Pan Pacific, IBF Asia Oceania.

Current form

Noel Mikaelian approaches the fight with a completely different story. Formally, he will enter the ring as the WBC champion, but the Armenian will lose his belt immediately after the start of the fight: the organization ordered him to meet with David Benavidez, and not with Opetaia. Mikaelian won the title in a rematch with Badu Jack last December. Then he prevailed by unanimous decision of the judges. The first meeting of the boxers took place in May 2025 and ended with Jack's victory by majority decision. Before that, Mikaelian had not appeared in the ring for a long time. His previous fight was in November 2023, when he stopped Ilunga Makaba in the third round. Formally, the vacant WBC belt was at stake, but the situation with the title was rather confusing: Jack received the status of champion on vacation and was going to move to bridgewate. His plans didn't come true, but he eventually kept the championship belt.

The 35-year-old boxer has 28 wins, 12 of them by knockout, and three defeats. He turned professional back in 2011 and managed to complete 221 rounds. The Armenian boxer is just over 190 cm (6 ft 3 in) tall, with a 190.5 cm (75 in) arm span. That is, he is about 4 cm taller than Opetai, but 2.5 cm shorter than him in arm length. With Mikaelian's knockout power, everything is noticeably more modest: he won 42.9% of his fights ahead of schedule. Moreover, in the last 16 fights, he managed to send only three opponents ahead of schedule.

Mikaelyan received his first defeat in 2017 from Krzysztof Wlodarczyk — a split decision after 12 rounds. A year later, he lost by unanimous decision to Mairis Briedis in a fight for the vacant WBC Diamond. The third defeat, the most recent, was the confrontation with Bad Jack. At the same time, Mikaelian's career cannot be called empty. Among his notable wins are Ilunga Makabu, Yuri Kayembre Kalenga, Isaiah Thomas, Stephen Simmons, Valery Brudov, Mohamed Azzawi, Ismail Abdul, Tamash Lodi and Tamash Polster. In 2020, he knocked out Jesse Bryan in the fourth round and won the vacant WBC International title. And in 2015, he defeated Daniel Alejandro Sanabria by unanimous decision and became the owner of the vacant WBO International belt, which he subsequently defended three times.
