Mark Magsayo - Andres Cortez: betting tip (cf 1.82) and bets on the fight

Current form

Mark Magsayo last boxed in April and stopped Feargal McCrory in the fifth round. For the 31-year-old Filipino, it was the 29th victory in his professional career with two defeats. In 19 cases, he ended fights ahead of schedule. Since 2013, Magsayo has played 185 rounds. The boxer's height is just over 168 cm, and his arm span is 171.5 cm. Magsayo is not one of the masters of expectant boxing: he prefers to work as the first number, constantly looking for an opportunity to attack and use a heavy blow. Among his most notable victories are successes in fights with Gary Allen Russell Jr., Jorge Mata, Julio Ceja, Yardley Cruz, Chris Avalos and Pablo Cruz.

In July 2025, a unanimous decision by the judges in a fight with Mata earned him the vacant WBC Continental Americas belt in the second featherweight division. Earlier, in January 2022, Magsayo became the WBC featherweight champion by defeating Russell. However, he lost his first title defense to Rey Vargas by split decision, although he managed to knock the Mexican down. In March 2023, the Filipino lost to Brandon Figueroa, and during the fight he was twice stripped of points for deductions. In his professional career, Magsayo has also won the IBF and WBO youth titles, the WBO International belt and the WBC Asian Boxing Council title. The amateur period was also successful: he won the Mayor Jonas Cortes Cup and PLDT-ABAP tournaments. At the same time, Magsayo was knocked down more than once, which indicates some questions about his defense. 

Current form

Andres Cortez also had his last fight in April and confidently outboxed Eridson Garcia in ten rounds. In the fourth round, Garcia was stripped of a point for holding. Cortez is 29 years old, and so far his professional record looks flawless: 25 wins, including 13 knockouts, and no defeats. Since 2016, the American has completed 136 rounds. In amateur boxing, he lost to Teofimo Lopez in the semifinals of the Golden Gloves and Devin Haney in the finals of the national Youth Championship. In 2023, Cortez won the vacant WBC USA Silver belt in the second featherweight division, stopping Javier Martinez after seven rounds. A year later, he defeated Brian Chevalier ahead of schedule and added the WBO Inter-Continental title. In 2025, Cortez passed Abraham Nova by unanimous decision and became the owner of the WBO NABO belt.

He also scored victories over Luis Melendez, Abraham Montoya, Genesis Servania and Omar Castillo. Cortez's height is 170 cm, and his arm span is about 165 cm. This means that he is slightly taller than Magsayo, but is inferior to him in the length of his arms. Cortez won 52% of his fights by knockouts. In three of the last four fights, he went the full distance, which characterizes him well as a calculating and technically competent boxer.
