The rebuilt Motorist started the season with a victory. Alexey Kudashov's team beat Dynamo Moscow 2-1 at home, and Alexander Barabanov immediately scored the first goal for the new club. Evgeny Alikin also played well.
The line-up changed a lot in the summer: Barabanov, Danil Gushchin, Alexander Kadeikin, Adam Ruzichka and Anton Slepyshev joined. It's still not perfect, but the team has already won the first official match. The car hosted Dynamo Moscow on the home arena and, due to the smart play of goalkeeper Alikin, snatched away the hardest victory in regular time with a minimal advantage of one goal (2:1).
Traktor has a new head coach, Scott Gordon, and quite a few changes in the squad. Henrik Haukeland has arrived, and the defense has noticeably rejuvenated. At the same time, the preseason turned out to be weak — the team took the last place at the Romazan Memorial.
It didn't work out in the first match of the championship either. In Yaroslavl, Chelyabinsk lost to Lokomotiv with a score of 1:5. Moreover, the reigning champion quickly took control of the game.
