Damian Knyba is much younger than his future opponent — the Polish boxer is 30 years old. In January, he suffered his first professional defeat, losing to Agit Cabayel in the third round in a fight for the interim WBC title. He has 17 wins and one loss, 11 wins by knockout. Since 2021, the Pole has completed 80 professional rounds.

Knyba is noticeably larger than Ruiz. His height is 201 cm, and his arm span is also 201 cm. The difference in height is 13 cm, and the length of the arms is 10 cm. At the same time, the Pole has good speed for such a large heavyweight, works well with a jab and is able to seriously invest in his right hand. In amateur boxing, Knyba managed to score 23 wins with seven defeats. In 2019, he won the Polish Junior Championship, and a year later became the national champion among adults.

In terms of early wins, the Pole even slightly surpasses Ruiz — 64.7%. Moreover, Knyba finished the last four victorious fights by knockout. However, it is necessary to take into account the difference in the class of the opposition. Among the most notable victims of the Pole are Joey Daveyko, Marcin Seavey, Richard Lartey Harrison, Terrell Jamal Woods, Michael Coffey and Curtis Harper. Knyba's main trump cards are distance, jab and right hand. The defeat by Cabayel remains a controversial episode of his career, as that fight ended ahead of schedule.
