In the previous season Suns reached the NBA finals, but Milwaukee turned out to be stronger and won the title. Team wants to get the trophy this time and is considered one of the main title contenders. 

Though it is too harsh to say thatPhoenix underestimated New Orleans in the first play-off round, team put very little effort into the victory in that series. Devin Booker's injury also affected team's performance, but he is now back and ready to tear down the opponent's defense, this time it will be Dallas. Monty Williams' men are in a great form and they will start the new play-off series at home, so the Suns will be overwhelming favorites. 

Mavericks deserved praise for the current season, regardless of its ending. Head coach and his players improved magnificently throughout the season. Even the departure of Kristaps Porzingis, who has been traded to Washington, didn't do much damage to team's performance, thanks to Jason Kidd. 

First round series against Utah proved that even without Luka Doncic Dallas are capable of achieving great results. Spencer Dinwiddie and Jalen Brunson put up great individual performances, Maxi Cleber also played well, so club has a solid roster.
