Leon Draisaitl continues to support McDavid, and the return of Nugent-Hopkins has added depth to the attacking combinations. It is worth highlighting the guest appearances, where Edmonton won all six meetings.
The Rangers' unsuccessful streak began even before the Los Angeles defeat, and so far the hosts have not shown how they are going to fix the defensive situation. Opponents too often get free space, especially with quick transitions from defense to offense. For Edmonton, with its leading strikers, such opportunities can be crucial. McDavid is now able to create chances out of almost nothing, and the support of Draisaitl and the rest of the partners makes the attack of the guests even more dangerous.
At the same time, we should not forget that New Yorkers started the season at home confidently enough and will certainly try to be more active from the very first minutes. However, Edmonton has learned to control the course of the game much better in recent meetings and no longer depends solely on the high performance of its leaders.
