The victory was San Antonio's third in a row and allowed them to consolidate their position at the top of the Southwest Division with a 35-16 balance.

For the Mavericks, the same match on February 5 turned into the sixth defeat in a row. The game developed according to dramatic canons: an unsuccessful start, an even more difficult second quarter, a flash of hope after the break, but then another recession and a lost ending. Cooper Flagg became a ray of light in this prolonged gloom — the first number of the draft broke the 30-point mark again, doing so for the fourth match in a row.

The young talent is diligently pulling the team forward, but even with the support of Max Christie and Daniel Gafford, this is still not enough. In the Southwest Division, Dallas is fourth with 19 wins and 32 losses, and the gap from the leading Spurs already looks like a gap of 16 matches.
