Mateus Camilo - Jay Herbert: betting tip (cf 1.55) and bets on the fight

Command Analysis

Current form
Mateus Camilo came to the UFC in a rather unusual way. His name became widely known after the story of a fighter who, right at a press conference, asked Dinah White to arrange a fight for him. Camilo went up against him and managed to win, and at the same time got the opportunity to continue his career in the largest organization in the world. So far, the Brazilian has been spending a rather uneven period in the UFC — two wins with one loss. The debut took place in May 2025, and then Camilo ran into trouble in a confrontation with Gabe Green. The Brazilian lost by submission in the second round, but after that he managed to draw the right conclusions.
Vyacheslav Borshchev became the next opponent. Camilo has already acted much more pragmatically in this fight. He regularly put the Russian on the floor and eventually took the victory by unanimous decision of the judges. Five successful takedowns per fight is an indicator that accurately describes his preferences in the octagon.
But in the last performance, Camilo demonstrated another important element of his arsenal. In a duel against Nazim Sadikhov, the Brazilian did not swing for long and after 91 seconds sent his opponent to rest ahead of schedule. Moreover, translation was not the decisive weapon at all. Kamilo caught Sadikhov with a powerful straight forehand and showed that it was definitely not worth writing off his work in the stand.
Before joining the UFC, Camilo competed in the Fury Fighting Championship and Shooto Brasil, but he never got the chance to fight for a title fight there. The 25-year-old Brazilian has 11 professional wins: five by knockout, two by submission and four by judges' decisions. He has three defeats.

Current form
Jay Herbert approaches this fight from a completely different stylistic base. The Englishman prefers to work in a standing position, use distance and make the opponent pay for every attempt to get closer. In April, he defeated Mandel Nallo by technical knockout, and he did it already in the first round. The fight took place in Canada, that is, in a foreign territory, and Herbert coped with the task without unnecessary hassle.
Before that, the Briton lost to Chris Padilla by a split decision. For Herbert, this defeat was another reminder of the main problem of his career in the UFC: he still can not collect a winning streak. The Englishman has already fought ten matches in the organization, but he still hasn't won two in a row. At the same time, it would be a serious mistake to consider Herbert an easy prey for a wrestler. His defense rate against takedowns is 66 percent, and what's more important is how this statistic looks directly in battles. For example, in the confrontation with Padilla, Herbert blocked all six attempts at translation.
There is another interesting point. If you don't take into account the fight against Renato Moicano, which was Herbert's second in the UFC, none of his rivals managed to hold more than two takedowns per fight. This means that Camilo will not be able to count on an easy walk in the stalls. He will have to constantly create pressure and force the British to make mistakes. Herbert is a former Cage Warriors lightweight champion, and before that he managed to go through a serious school at BAMMA. He has been competing in professional MMA since 2015, and before that he had an amateur record of 9-1.
In 2020, the Englishman signed a contract with the UFC. His debut turned out to be difficult — in a duel against Francisco Trinaldo, Herbert was defeated by technical knockout. Since then, he has continued to alternate successful performances with failures. 38-year-old Herbert has 14 wins: ten by knockouts, one by submission and three by judges' decisions and six defeats. In addition, the Briton holds a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Tip and bets
Camilo has to go forward, close the distance and look for an opportunity to put Herbert on the floor. The Briton, of course, will try to leave the fight in the rack, where he will have more space to work and the opportunity to take advantage of the experience. The main question is how well Camilo will be able to implement his wrestling plan. Herbert's defense against takedowns is above average, so the Brazilian is unlikely to be able to simply take an opponent and send him to the canvas several times in a row without any problems. Therefore, the most logical scenario looks like a protracted fight, in which Camilo will methodically try to impose his fight, and Herbert will look for moments to work in the rack.
