Raul Rosas is coming to a meeting on a five-win streak in the UFC. He completed the last of them in March, when, after three rounds, the judges gave him a victory over Rob Font. At the same time, the Mexican continues to improve his grappling skills. Rosas' path to the UFC was not without serious warning. In April 2023, he lost by unanimous decision to Christian Rodriguez. The defeat was the first in his professional career, but the young fighter quickly drew conclusions. This was followed by a series of victories, in which there were judges' decisions over Vince Morales and Kileng Aori, a stranglehold from behind against Ricky Turcios and a bright victory by technical knockout over Terrence Mitchell in just 54 seconds.

Rosas' professional record now stands at 12 wins and one loss. He ended fights six times by submission, won twice by knockout, and took victory four more times by decision of the judges. Before joining the UFC, the Mexican performed at UWC Mexico and did not know any defeats there. At the amateur level, he also went the distance without misfires — six wins in six fights.

Rosas has already made history in the UFC. He performed at Dana White's Contender Series, won his fight by decision, and received a contract with the organization. At that time, he was only 17 years, 11 months and 12 days old — the Mexican became the youngest fighter signed by the UFC. Later, he became the youngest athlete ever to be ranked by the organization. Rosas is currently ranked 12th in his weight class.

The Mexican's main trump cards are obvious: speed, youth, physical characteristics and a very serious base in the fight. Rosas holds a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and feels great where a fight turns into a chain of clinches, transfers and attempts to get to the reception.

Raoni Barcelos, at the age of 39, unexpectedly put together a series of five consecutive victories. Moreover, he started three of these fights as an outsider. The loudest result was the victory over Payton Talbott — the bookmakers clearly did not expect such a performance from the Brazilian at that time. In April, Barcelos defeated Montel Jackson on points in the last match. Prior to that, the veteran also defeated Ricky Simon and Cody Garbrandt by unanimous decisions, and forced Christian Quinones to surrender in the third round. Barcelos suffered its last defeat in April 2023 against Kyler Phillips. 

In total, the Brazilian has 22 wins and five defeats. He knocked out his opponents eight times, won 11 more victories by decision of the judges and three by submission. Barcelos is currently ranked 13th in the UFC light heavyweight rankings. In 2015, the Brazilian became the champion of the Resurrection Fighting Alliance, successfully defended the title twice, after which he got the opportunity to continue his career in the UFC. Barcelos really looks great right now, but sooner or later any athlete faces the moment when the body begins to bill for years of professional performances. This is especially important against Rosas: the Mexican is younger, faster and able to make his opponent work at a high pace.

At the same time, Barcelos is far from a helpless veteran who can simply be tolerated. The Brazilian became the national wrestling champion five times and has a black belt in BJJ. That is, it is in the stalls that he is able to cause serious problems for Rosas.
