Elvis Brener has long established himself as a fighter who absolutely should not be allowed to relax even for a second. However, the recent performance leaves much to be desired. The Brazilian has three defeats in a row. First, Brener lost to Esteban Ribovich by unanimous decision, then Joel Alvarez stopped him in the third round, missing a series of punches and knees. The last in this list was Myktybek Orolbai, who also took the victory on points. At the same time, none of these fights can be called passing — the Trainer in each of them forced the opponents to work hard. The Brazilian joined the UFC after defeating Zubair Tukhugov by split decision in February 2023. It is noteworthy that Brener had already crossed paths with him at a grappling tournament.

Elvis began his professional MMA career in 2016. He managed to go through several regional promotions, including Amazon Talent, Mr. Cage Championship and Future Fighting Championships. He had no title achievements at this level. The 28-year-old Brener has 16 wins and six losses. He knocked out opponents three times, won twice by decisions, and forced opponents to give up 11 times.

Current form 

The story of Josiah Harrell turned out to be much more dramatic. In 2023, the American was preparing to go out on short notice against Jack Della Maddalena, but a medical examination revealed a serious problem that required surgery. The comeback proved successful: Harrell won four fights in a row, bringing the winning streak to ten meetings.

Outside of the UFC, the American looked very convincing. He finished Melvin Gillard by submission in the first round, then defeated Keegan Heinrich on points and won the Ohio Combat League championship belt. Next, Harrell performed at the Legacy Fighting Alliance 224 tournament, where he scored a landslide victory over Bekmyrz Dosmatov. The American sent his opponent into a technical knockout, pinning him to the net and unleashing a hail of punches. That turned out to be enough for a chance to try my hand at the UFC. However, the transition to the main level of world MMA turned out to be painful. In February, Harrell faced Jacob Smith and was defeated by technical knockout in the first round. At the age of 27, the American has 11 wins and one loss. He won six times by knockout, four times by submission, and finished another fight with a victory on points.
