In addition, he is noticeably larger than Freire, which can be an important factor in a three-round confrontation. The 35-year-old Choi has 17 wins — 14 by knockout, two by decision and one by submission — with four defeats. Before joining the UFC in 2014, the Korean performed in the Asian organizations DEEP and Gladiator. At the same time, he tried his hand at grappling and kickboxing and, like his future rival, has a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
