Under the leadership of the former head coach of CSKA Moscow and Lokomotiv, Marko Nikolic, the Greek AEK has achieved excellent results. Nevertheless, the team from Linz completed the task and qualified for the group stage. 

LASK had a very strong start to the season in the Austrian Bundesliga. The club beat Gratzer (3:0), Austria (2:0), Reed (4:1), Altach (3:0) and Wolfsberger (3:1) very confidently. The guests are confidently leading in the standings of their championship and are going for the second consecutive title. In the national cup, they also managed to score two crushing victories - over Kallsdorf (7:0) and Deutschlandsberger (6:1).
