Kennedy Nzechukwu's move to the heavyweight division cannot yet be called a definite success or failure. During this time, the African managed to win twice, suffer one defeat and finish another match in a draw. Moreover, he closed both of the fights he won ahead of schedule. First, Nzechukwu defeated Chris Barnett by technical knockout in the first round, and then similarly stopped Lukasz Brzeski.

What followed was a much more unpleasant ordeal. In a duel with Walter Walker, Nzechukwu fell for a painful heel twist and surrendered already at the 54th second of the opening round. In December 2025, the African had his last fight at the moment and broke up with Marcus Buchey. However, during the meeting with Nzechukwu, they took off one point for a poke in the eye. Without this penalty, the referee's notes could have recorded his victory with a score of 29-28. The 34-year-old Nzechukwu has 12 professional wins — eight by knockouts, three by judges' decisions and one by submission — with six defeats. He has been competing in the UFC since 2018.

Current form

Shamil Gaziev will enter the octagon with a not very pleasant series — the Dagestani has lost the last two fights in a row. After a landslide victory over Thomas Petersen, whom Gazziev knocked out in the first round in 2025, the fighter's career began to decline. He first faced Waldo Cortez-Acosta, who accepted the fight on short notice, just a week after his previous appearance at APEX. Gaziev failed to take advantage and lost by knockout in the first round.

In May, the situation became even more unpleasant: Gaziev was stopped by Brando Pericic in the second round. Before joining the UFC, Shamil managed to gain solid experience in Brave CF and Belarusian FC, but he never managed to get to a title fight in these organizations.
