Anthony Hernandez - Gregory Rodriguez: betting tip (cf 1.60) and bets on the fight

Command Analysis

Current form
Anthony Hernandez has been getting used to a different life lately. To the life in which he is moving forward, he is not particularly interested in other people's comfort and methodically turns the fight into hard work for the opponent. But in the last match, this system failed. In February 2036, Sean Strickland managed to stop the American's constant pressure, met him with precise punches and eventually knocked Hernandez out with a knee to the body in the third round.
That ended an impressive eight-fight winning streak. Moreover, some of Hernandez's victories looked so convincing that it was quite possible to imagine him among the main contenders for serious positions in the division. Especially significant was the victory over Michel Pereira, where the American literally did not allow his opponent to feel like the master of what was happening. The American didn't look like his usual self against Strickland. His attacks gradually lost their sharpness, his movements became less rapid, and his constant offensive no longer made the same impression. Strickland took advantage of it superbly. In less than three rounds, he dealt Hernandez 110 significant blows, while he missed 55.
Before that, Hernandez showed a completely different picture. In the duel with Marc-Andre Barrio, he constantly shortened the distance, worked on the body, forced the Canadian to react and gradually transferred the confrontation to the stalls. Not all takedown attempts went smoothly, and in one of the episodes Hernandez was injured in the clinch and was forced to retreat a little. However, then the American returned to his plan. In the stalls, Hernandez's advantage became especially noticeable. He did not just hold the Barrio, but continued to work with punches, forcing the opponent to expend his strength. In the end, the pressure brought the result — Hernandez ended the meeting with a painful triangle with his hands in the third round.
The 32-year-old American has 20 wins to his credit: eight by knockouts, three by judges' decisions and nine by early receptions. Hernandez is ranked sixth in the UFC middleweight division. He previously held the Legacy Fighting Alliance championship belt and managed to collect an impressive collection of bonuses from the UFC. The nickname Fluffy here, by the way, should not be misleading at all. Behind him is a fighter with a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and experience in wrestling.

Current form
Gregory Rodriguez approaches the meeting in a much more pleasant mood. The Brazilian has three wins in a row, and the last one turned out to be particularly convincing. In March, Robocop met with Bruno Ferreira and closed the old account. In 2023, Ferreira knocked out Rodriguez, but the rematch turned out to be a completely different story — now Rodriguez himself put an end to the first round.
Before that, the Brazilian defeated Roman Kopylov by decision of the judges, and even earlier he dealt with Jack Hermansson ahead of schedule. At the same time, Rodriguez does not look like Strickland. The American forced Hernandez to make mistakes due to distance, constant jabbing and counterattacks. The Brazilian acts differently. He likes to go forward, take the fight on opposite courses and invest in punches as if each of them could be the last.
Hernandez is able to make such a fight very uncomfortable. If the American constantly shortens the distance, clings to the body, looks for takedowns and forces Rodriguez to defend, then the Brazilian will have to spend his strength not only on his attacks. And that's a completely different story. As an example, we can recall Marc-Andre Barrio. In terms of striking style, he has certain similarities with Rodriguez, although it would be too easy to compare these fighters directly, of course. The main difference is in the fight. Rodriguez's ground floor is much more serious. This is a case where it's easy to forget that we have a very skilled grappler in front of us.
The 34-year-old Brazilian has 19 wins — 11 by knockouts, four by decisions and four by submission — with six defeats. He is ranked 11th in the UFC middleweight division. Like Hernandez, Rodriguez previously became the champion of the Legacy Fighting Alliance, and also held the Smash Global MMA title. In addition, the Brazilian has a black belt in jiu-jitsu.

Tip and bets
The main intrigue of this fight is quite simple: will Hernandez be able to turn the meeting into the grueling duel that suits him, or will Rodriguez be able to force the American to fight in the rack on his own terms? If Hernandez starts pushing from the first minute, working on the body and looking for a takedown, Rodriguez will have to defend a lot. But there is a downside here. The more actively the American enters the fight, the more opportunities the Brazilian will have for counter attacks and work in the stalls. However, after losing to Strickland, it's important for Hernandez to not just win the next fight. He needs to regain a sense of control. And here the meeting with Rodriguez becomes a very interesting test. The Brazilian will not allow his opponent to have a quiet evening and will certainly respond to pressure with his own pressure. An intense duel with serious episodes is most likely in the first half of the meeting. One careless exchange, an unsuccessful pass to the legs or a mistake in the stalls can dramatically change the entire course of the confrontation. And if the fight really goes according to the scenario that suggests itself based on the styles of both athletes, the long calm in the octagon is unlikely to last.
Our betting tip is that the fight will end in 1-3 rounds in 1.60
