Salavat Yulaev surprisingly completely failed the start of last season. The team suffered defeats from match to match, losing even to obvious outsiders. Nevertheless, during the regular season, the club found its game and, as a result, got a ticket to the playoffs without any problems, where it defeated Avtomobilist in the first round. However, in the next round I had to fight the future Gagarin Cup winner in the person of Lokomotiv, losing to him with a final score of 1:4. Ufa retained their core in the preseason, but there were some major changes in the squad. Kuznetsov left the club, and Shipachev, the KHL's top scorer, replaced him.

The start of the preseason turned out to be a success for the Greens. The team coped with the outsider in the person of Barys without any problems (4:1). However, in the next match he was unable to cope with Lada, and missed as many as six goals from Tolyatti (3-6).

Amur struggled to make the playoffs last season. Siberia became the main competitor of the club, but due to the recession at the end of the regular season, they still had to concede the last ticket to the Gagarin Cup to the Siberians. The main problem of the Tigers remains their very low performance in attack, and the attacking line is simply not able to compensate for this disadvantage. During the off-season, the club tried to strengthen as much as possible, but changes in the squad are not critical, so do not expect major changes in the team's game.

However, it is worth noting that Khabarovsk residents started the preseason extremely successfully. Already in the first match, they managed to defeat Amur dry (5:0). Next, Amur fought with Barys and again surprised with his performance, gaining the upper hand with a score of 5:1.
