However, Minsk residents did not manage to reach the Gagarin Cup final. But the most painful loss was the departure of Vitaly Pinchuk, who scored as many as 73 points last season. The Minachans also didn't start the preseason in the best way. In the first match with the Shanghai Dragons, the club experienced huge problems in defense, but due to high-quality offensive play, it still won a hard-fought victory with a score of 7:5. But in the second match of the home tournament, Brylin's wards quite predictably failed to cope with Metallurg, losing 3-6.

Siberia last season did not surprise with its results from the word at all. The team, as expected, made it to the playoffs, where in the first round it was unable to give a worthy rebuff to the obvious favorite in the person of Metallurg and was defeated with a final score in the series 1:4. The club's management is clearly not satisfied with such results, as evidenced by their active activity in the transfer market in the off-season. The Snowflakes were still able to agree on a contract with Evgeny Kuznetsov for one season. Also, the exchange of Egor Koreshkov from Traktor, who scored 37 points last season, can be considered a serious strengthening of the attack.

As part of the pre-season training, Siberia played two matches. In the first of them, the team could not break through the Admiral's defense and lost with a score of 1:3. In the second match of the Minsk Cup, the club nevertheless rehabilitated itself in front of the fans, winning a landslide victory over Sochi (4-0).
