Until recently, it seemed that Oban Elliott was confidently moving towards a place among the strongest welterweights in the organization. A spectacular victory over Bassil Hafez in the legendary Madison Square Garden allowed us to seriously talk about the prospects of the Welshman. However, then his career followed a less pleasant scenario. First, Elliott lost to Seok Hyun Ko by unanimous decision, and then suffered another painful defeat, losing to Jonathan Micallef by choke in the second round.

Before joining the UFC, the Briton played in Cage Warriors, where he consistently won and was considered one of the most promising fighters in the promotion. However, it never came to the title match. The 28-year-old athlete currently has 18 wins, eight of which were achieved by knockout, six by judicial decision and four by submission. There are only four defeats in his professional career, but the last two have significantly affected his position.

Current form

This evening will be special for Michael Oliveira — the Brazilian will make his UFC debut. He earned a contract with the strongest league in the world thanks to his successful performance in the Contender Series, where in October 2025 he effectively stopped Victor Valenzuela with a technical knockout in the second round.

Oliveira spent almost his entire professional career with the Legacy Fighting Alliance. Despite his impressive winning streak, he never made it to the title fight in the organization. But he managed to keep a perfect record. To date, the 28-year-old Brazilian has nine wins, eight of which ended in knockouts. Only once did he have to run the entire distance and succeed on points. This percentage of early wins speaks for itself: Oliveira prefers not to leave the fate of the fight in the hands of the judges.
