Walter Walker is one of the most unusual heavyweights of the modern UFC. The Brazilian has managed to make his signature heelhook (heel twisting) a weapon of mass destruction: his attacks on the legs of rivals have become a real headache for the representatives of the division. Since 2024, he has been turning every fight into a test of his opponent's endurance and ability to get out of a dangerous situation. Walker's path to the UFC didn't start off perfectly. In his debut match, he lost to Lukasz Brzeski by unanimous decision, but this defeat was more of a reset point. 

After that, the Brazilian completely changed his approach to fighting and gave out a series of four wins in a row — and each time he finished the opponent with his signature painful technique. Moreover, all the fights ended in the first round. Walker's latest victims were Louis Sutherland, Kennedy Nzechukwu, Don'tale Mayes and Junior Tafa. 28-year-old Walter Walker has a professional record of 15 wins and one loss. He has six wins by knockout, four by judges' decisions and five by submission. In addition, he managed to win championship belts in the organizations Titan FC, MMA Series and Arena Global MMA.

Current form

Thomas Petersen approaches this fight with a more ambiguous track record. The American has already fought six fights in the UFC, where he won three and suffered three defeats. His last appearance in the octagon was a success for him — in April he beat Guilherme Pat by a majority of the judges. Prior to that, Petersen had faced serious challenges against powerful punchers. He has lost two of his last four fights, with both defeats coming by knockouts from Vitor Petrino and Shamil Gaziev.

The 31-year-old American has 11 wins and four losses in total. He won six times by knockout, took the victory by decision of the judges four times and forced the opponent to surrender once. Petersen also has championship experience — he previously held the belt of the Legacy Fighting Alliance organization.
