Current form

Corey Sandhagen has not entered the octagon since October 2025. Then he failed to win the championship belt, losing to Merab Dvalishvili by unanimous decision of the judges. This defeat was another unsuccessful attempt to gain a foothold at the top of the division. Before that, the American dealt vividly with former champion Daveson Figueiredo, stopping his opponent with a technical knockout in the second round. Even earlier, Sandhagen lost on points to Umar Nurmagomedov in the fight for the title.

Despite several defeats in key fights, Corey remains one of the most versatile fighters in the category. During his career, the 34-year-old American has won 18 victories, eight of which were achieved by knockouts, seven by judicial decisions and three by receptions. He also has six defeats to his credit.  The Sandman ranks fourth in the ranking of its division. Sandhagen is a former Sparta Combat League champion, holds a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and has repeatedly received UFC bonuses for outstanding performances.

Current form

Mario Bautista also went through a difficult period. In October 2025, he lost to Umar Nurmagomedov by unanimous decision, but then managed to quickly return to the list of contenders. In February, the American effectively defeated Vinicius Oliveira with a painful technique. At the same time, it was the meeting with Oliveira that showed how seriously Bautista had improved in the fight. In less than two rounds, he moved his opponent to the stalls five times, which was the best performance of his career. The American has 19 wins, of which three were won by knockout, seven by decision of the judges and nine by submission. With three defeats, he occupies the seventh place in the ranking of the lightest division and continues to claim the most high-profile fights.
