Jean Matsumoto is coming to the fight after a series of fights against very serious opposition. In the last three appearances, the Brazilian has consistently been the center of attention. He lost by split decisions to Farid Basharat and Rob Font, and in between those fights he defeated Miles Jones. Both defeats turned out to be extremely controversial. Many experts believed that Matsumoto deserved to win at least one of these confrontations.
