Arnold Allen - Melkizael Costa: betting tip (KEF 2.13) and bets on the fight

Current form

Arnold Allen needs victory now as much as he needs air in the late rounds of a tough fight. Until recently, the Englishman was perceived as one of the main contenders for the featherweight title, but recent results have significantly affected his position. Yes, there were defeats from the most serious rivals — Max Holloway, Movsar Evloev and Jean Silva. The fight against Silva turned out to be especially close, where Allen looked decent, but in the UFC it's not enough just to be competitive — only victories are counted here.

At the same time, there is a feeling that Allen is gradually losing the dynamics that used to make him so uncomfortable. He is still very disciplined, accurate and tactically competent, but the division is not standing still. Young and aggressive fighters are already breathing down their backs, and speed and pressure are becoming more important.

The Englishman's stats look good: 3.47 significant strokes per minute with 3.04 missed. But the numbers here don't tell the whole story. Allen rarely gets into real shootouts. Moreover, in recent years, he has only once broken the mark of 100 significant blows — back in 2019 in a duel with Gilbert Melendez. In the rest of the fights that reached the decision, his average was much more modest.

Current form

Melkisael Costa now looks like a man who has finally caught his rhythm in the UFC. The Brazilian is on a six-game winning streak, and his latest success over Dan Ige has only added to his confidence.  He is good at standing up, constantly changing the angles of attack, works a lot with his feet and does not allow the opponent to get used to his fighting pattern. But what makes it especially dangerous is its versatility. Costa is able to abruptly transfer the match to the stalls and instantly create a threat with a submission. His guillotine in the battle with Andre Fili was executed so cleanly that many watched this episode several times.

Statistically, the Brazilian also looks convincing. He lands 4.38 significant strokes per minute and misses less than three — 2.97. For a featherweight, this is a very serious indicator. Especially considering that Costa is constantly moving forward and imposing a high tempo. The costa does not sag functionally. In three UFC fights that reached the late rounds, he twice broke the 100 significant hits mark. This suggests that the Brazilian is able to keep a high volume of work for all 25 minutes.
