Loko has had one of the best seasons of all time. In the regular season, the team demonstrated the best hockey in the league, confidently defeating almost all opponents in its path. As part of the Kharlamov Cup, Yaroslavl continued to delight the fans and did not suffer a single defeat in the first two rounds, gaining the upper hand over Dynamo St. Petersburg and Dynamo Shinnik. Serious problems arose only in the semi-final series with Cars, in which it came all the way to the seventh match, and only due to the smart implementation of the moments in the attack, the Muscovites managed to snatch victory with a score of 5:4. Forwards Yakunin and Sysoev became the real heroes of the decisive meeting, scoring a total of seven effective actions.

As expected, in the first match of the finals, Spartak was unable to cope with the obvious favorite, in the person of Loko. In particular, it is worth noting the fact that the team played very poorly on all points and avoided complete failure, mainly due to the efforts of goalkeeper Frolov, who deflected 31 shots.
