Another end to the season, and once again we see a decline in Arsenal's game, when there is very little left to climb to the top. The Londoners have already missed out on one trophy when they lost to Manchester City (0:2) in the League Cup final. Interestingly, after that setback, the Gunners, taking into account all the tournaments, played six matches in which they won only one victory over Sporting in the Champions League with a minimum score of 1:0. Then, in the second leg, we played a draw with the Portuguese and advanced to the semifinals.

Directly in the Premier League, Arsenal suffered defeats in the previous two rounds with the same score 1:2 from Bournemouth and Manchester City. The game was largely equal with the townspeople, after the first half the score on the scoreboard was 1:1. In the second 45 minutes, Holland said his weighty word, but the Gunners did not have anyone to answer.

The result of recent failures was the loss of the first line, and there was no trace of the once-solid reserve. At the same time, everything is still not so bad, because Manchester City is ahead only in terms of additional indicators. It's another matter whether Mikel Arteta's players are ready to play and achieve victories under such intense psychological pressure.

With 42 points scored, Eddie Howe's team occupies a modest 14th place and is already seven points behind the European Cup top seven.

Characteristically, the calendar was not the most difficult: Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth. All matches ended with the same score 2:1 in favor of the opponents. In two of the three matches, Newcastle led after the first half, but played poorly in the second 45 minutes. There was a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth until the 85th minute, but again there was a failure in the end. Obviously, Eddie Howe's players are not ready to keep up the pace of the game throughout the match. The season is too busy, and fatigue has accumulated. There is no reason to expect a dramatic transformation for the better against such a background.

Newcastle has a match against an uncomfortable opponent ahead. Taking into account all the tournaments, the Magpies lost three matches in a row to Arsenal. Plus, they have very poor performance on the road for the season: only four wins in 16 matches played.
