Ryazan experienced huge problems with both creating and implementing offensive chances throughout the regular season, but a high-quality defensive game made it possible to compensate for most of the club's shortcomings, thanks to which they managed to get a ticket to the Petrov Cup, taking sixth place in the table at the end of the regular season. In the first round of the playoffs, the club faced a very serious opponent in the person of Rubin and, after two wins at home, went to play on the road, where he allowed the opponent to reduce the gap due to the lack of abandoned goals. Nevertheless, the Ryazan team gathered their strength and avoided additional problems, closing out the Tyumen team with a score of 4:2.
