The teams spent the first period carefully — without goals, but with several dangerous moments. Utah goalkeeper Spencer Knight worked confidently and kept the hosts in the game for a long time. In the second period, Mammoth finally found their chance. Dylan Gunter opened the scoring after a beautiful combination with Logan Cooley and Mikhail Sergachev — 1-0.
