Finally, the amount of character and perseverance turned into the quality of the result: a 3-1 victory at home against Avangard. This is only the seventh victory of Sochi in 25 matches in 2026.

The away game against Torpedo on March 8 followed a catch-up scenario. Sochi responded to each of the first three goals of the hosts with accurate shots from their leaders in recent matches Daniil Seroukh, Timur Hafizov and Egor Petukhov, but they could not respond to Sergei Goncharuk's goal in the middle of the third period and lost (3:4). Nevertheless, the team spirit of the Southerners is now such that they should be expected to surprise even a very strong opponent in any game.
