Germany starts the Olympics as a strong contender for the top positions of Group C under the leadership of coach Harald Kreis. The first match is against Denmark on February 14, followed by the USA and Latvia. Germany is historically strong: debut in 1928, silver in Pyeongchang 2018, bronze medals in 1932 and 1976, regular quarterfinals.

Denmark is entering the Olympics for the second time after its successful debut in Beijing 2022. In Group C, the Danes start with Germany on February 14, then they will play with the USA and Latvia. The team consists of forwards Nicolas Ehlers, Lars Eller, Oliver Bjorkstrand, Joakim Blichfeld, Niklas Jensen and Oscar Fisker Molgaard. Captain Jesper Jensen Aabo provides physical stability and experience.

The goalkeepers, led by Frederik Andersen (Carolina, 91+% of deflections), are strong in the minority (~85%), and counterattacks make Denmark a dangerous outsider. There are no medals at the Olympics yet, but the successes at the 2010 and 2023 World Championships give confidence.
