Current form

Bayern managed to lose points twice in the Bundesliga after the winter break. First there was a sensational home defeat against Augsburg (1-1), and then an away draw with Hamburg (2-2). After these setbacks, the Reds had a match against one of their pursuers, Hoffenheim. This time, there was no underestimation of the opponent, a crushing victory with a score of 5:1. Once again, the Munich team demonstrated their ability to give their maximum in important meetings. Vincent Kompany's team is confidently in the lead in the standings, pulling away from Borussia Dortmund by six points.

In the German Cup, Bayern beat Wehen hesitantly at the start (3:2). In the next round, in their usual style, the Reds easily beat Cologne 4-1. In the 1/8 finals, they again had difficulties with Union, which they managed to defeat with a one-goal advantage (3:2).

So far, Bayern is claiming titles in all the tournaments where it participates. The Champions League is no exception. At the general stage, Vincent Kompany's team allowed itself only one misfire with Arsenal, finished in second place, without any problems getting a ticket to the 1/8 finals.

After these failures, it was not without problems that we managed to beat Cologne 2-1 on the road. Leipzig has the biggest problems in away matches in the Bundesliga – only 18 points scored.

Given the lack of European competitions and the poor performance in the Bundesliga, the national cup is important for Leipzig, as there is a chance to win at least some kind of trophy here. It is no coincidence that Ole Werner resorted to minimal rotation of the squad even in matches with rivals who were inferior in class. In the tournament bracket, the bulls overcame the resistance of Sandhausen (4:2), Energie (4:1) and Magdeburg (3:1).
