Current form

Before the start of the Champions League, Newcastle was not considered an obvious and unconditional contender for a place in the top eight, but the selection of players obliged the magpies to set themselves the task of getting a ticket to the playoffs. Eddie Howe's team got to start with a home match against Barcelona, in which the Magpies fought, but they lost 1-2 to the point and made the task more difficult for themselves.

At the moment, the Magpies occupy only the 13th place in the table with 12 points and are already six points behind the fourth line. Having lost in the last round 1:3 West Ham, Newcastle suffered their fourth defeat of the season.

Current form

However, Athletic scored their first victory in the last round, beating Qarabag 3-1 on home turf.

In the Spanish championship, Athletic clearly relied on finishing in the top four and a ticket to the Champions League – the selection of players obliged them to set themselves such a task. However, the Basques failed the starting segment in the Example and currently occupy only 11th place in the table, with 14 points in the asset. Having lost in the Basque derby 2:3 to Real Sociedad in the last round, Athletic suffered its fifth defeat of the season.
