Juventus approached the start of last season in the status of a clear contender for the championship title, having spent serious funds on transfers and invited Thiago Motta as head coach. The situation with Dusan Vlahovic remains unclear – the Serb has one year left on his contract, but he probably won't be able to sell him in the summer.

Parma has strengthened with young players, with an eye to also profit from these acquisitions at the end of the season. A week ago, Parma, led by Carlos Cuesta, faced Pescara in the Italian Cup and justified the status of the favorite – a 2-0 victory allowed them to advance to the 1/16 finals.
