In the previous round of World Cup qualifying, Uruguay drew 1-1 with Brazil. The result, of course, is not bad, but in general, the national team is not playing its best season right now – there were no wins in five of the six qualifying matches. The gap from the leading national team of Argentina is five points, but Ecuador and Colombia are one point behind. It should be noted that in this qualifying round, the Uruguayans look powerful in attack, scoring 17 goals, more than only Argentina (21).
