The Golden Boy lost in the last two out of three fights, losing to his compatriots Gerald Merschart (submission, second round) and Anthony Hernandez (technical knockout, third round). But he got the better of another U.S. representative, A. J. Dobson (knockout, first round). The 27-year-old Shahbazyan has 13 wins (11 by knockout, one by decision, one by submission) and five defeats. Edman holds a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

In the strongest mixed martial arts championship on the planet, the American lost in two debut fights, losing in September 2024 to his compatriot Andre Petroski (unanimous decision), and before that to Brazilian Cesar Almeida (technical knockout, second round). But as part of Dana White's Contender Series, Chad Hanek won (unanimous decision) from South Africa. The 25-year-old has 13 wins (two by knockout, seven by decision, four by submission) and six defeats.
