After a few terrible seasons, Barcelona finally have a chance for a success under Xavi's management. After 21 matches, the Blaugrana are at the top of the standings with 56 points. Fierce rivals Real Madrid are 11 points behind Barca, but the Blancos have a game in hand.

Manchester team got into the group with Real Sociedad, Sheriff and Omonia in the Europa League. Manchester United were considered main favourites, but failed to fully meet the expectations. Real Sociedad took a top spot in the group, beating the Red Devils on tiebreakers.
