Roberto Bautista Agut got a landslide victory over Joao Sousa (6-3, 6-2, 6-2) in his opener, but his second-round match was quite dramatic. The Spaniah athlete lost the first two sets to Brandon Holt, but then mounted an incredible comeback (4-6, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2). Before the start of the major, Bautista Agut secured the runner-up finish at the tournament in Adelaide.
