Poland and France suffered defeats in the third round of the group stage. Who will advance into the quarter-final? The answer is in our prediction.

Command Analysis

France

Nine replacements didn't help the current champions in the game against Tunisia, as they got beaten by the African side, but French team still managed to retain the top spot in their group. Didier Deschamps decided to rest his key players ahead of the play-off matches.

The Blues faced Poland only once in their history and suffered a defeat on penalties. It happened 40 years ago, when Frenchmen lost the round of 16 spot to Poland. But now France have an outstanding team, so they have an ability to extend their unbeaten run.

Fun fact: France head coach Didier Deschamps is one of just three men, who won the World Cup as a player and a manager. Two others are Mario Zagallo and Franz Beckenbauer.

Benzema and Hernandez are sidelined for the upcoming game.

Poland

A 0:2 defeat to Argentina in the most recent game left a sour taste in mouth of Poland fans - team put up an underwhelming performance and failed to hit a single shot on target. They earned a spot in round of 16, because Mexico scored just two goals in the game against Saudi Arabia.

If they will go on like that, team won't get too far, but a play-off spot is already a big result for Poland - the Eagles reached the World Cup playoffs for the first time since 1986. In three rounds the Red-Whites have recorded one victory and one draw.

Team will count on a quick goal and talent of Wojciech Szczesny, who already parried two penalty kicks.

Tip and bets

Tipboth to score
2.45

Both teams rely on the offense, they have some of the strongest European talents up front. Both teams also have some problems on defense, so we are expecting a high-scoring game.

Our prediction - both teams to score

Will the prediction win?
TipPoland to advance
6.50

Current champion surely has an edge in this game. But Poland have strong offensive players and a coaching talent of Czeslaw Michniewicz, so we might see another sensation here.

Our second bet is on Poland to advance

Will the prediction win?
