Ottawa don't have a very powerful roster and they might struggle to stay conpetitive throughout the regular season. Recently, the Senators had a seven-game losing streak, but after a loss to New Jersey (3:4 ОТ), the team managed to defeat Philadelphia (4:1). That was the first time in the current season when J.J. Smith's charges conceded only one goal. Usually, the Senators concede three or four even at home. Moreover, one of Ottawa's key defender, Artyom Zub, is out injured. 

The Islanders are among the leaders in the East. They have enjoyed a flying start to the season, but the team is very dependent on its leaders and might not be able to maintain the same level of performance if someone gets injured. The Isles celebrated success in three out of four previous games - they beat the Rangers in the derby (4:3), defeated Calgary with the same score, and snatched a victory from Columbus in overtime (4:3 OT). The team also lost to Arizona (0:2).
