Gauff vs Garcia: prediction for the WTA Finals match

18-year old Cori Gauff achieved a tremendous success. American player reached the 4th place in the WTA rankings and deserved a spot in the WTA Finals. 

Despite that, Cori didn't win a single title in the current season. She recorded 38 victories and suffered 19 defeats since the start of the year. Gauff reached the final of Roland Garros, but lost a title match to Iga Swiatek (1:6, 3:6). In the most recent tournament, at Guadalajara, Gauff got eliminated in the quarter-final by Victoria Azarenka (6:7, 6:4, 3:6). 

Caroline Garcia had a brilliant 2017 season, in which she reached the semi-final of the WTA Finals. After that, French player had a long slump and not many people could've predict her rising back to the top in 2022. But the former World No. 6 player proved that it is too early to write her off. 

Garcia played 60 matches in the current season, winning 41 of them. Caroline claimed three titles - at Bad Homburg, Warsaw and Cincinnati. Recent Guadalajara tournament ended badly for the French player - she got eliminated by Stephens in the round of 16 (6:7, 5:7). Just before the start of WTA Finals, Caroline Garcia decided to stop working with her coach, Bertrand Perret.
