Southampton vs West Ham: prediction for the English Premier League fixture

Southampton were off to a good start in the League Cup. The team defeated Cambridge United (3:0) and progressed to the third round of the competition, where they will play Sheffield Wednesday. In the Premier League, however,the Saints have looked poor so far. 

Ralph Hasenhuttl's men are coming into this fixture on the back of four straight defeats. Southampton are currently in 17th place with seven points from nine games. In the last outing, the Saints were crushed by Manchester City (0:4). 

The hosts will be without Lavia, Djenepoand Livramento. 

West Ham got off to a good start in the Conference League. The team won four group games, beating FCSB (3:1), Silkeborg (3:2), and Anderlecht (0:1, 2:1). They secured the top-line finish and will progress to the last 16.

But things are not going so well for the Hammers in the Premier League. David Moyes' men won only three out of nine games and scored eight goals, which is underwhelming. In the last two games, West Ham strengthened their standings - they beat Wolverhampton (2:0) and Fulham (3:1) and climbed to the 14th line in the table. 

Aguerd, Antonio, Ogbonna,and Cornet have been ruled out of this fixture.
