Atletico vs Girona: prediction for the La Liga fixture

Atletico lost the La Liga title in the previous season, but earned a spot in the Champions League. Start of a new season in a main European club tournament brought a victory over Porto and two consecutive defeats, taking the team to the bottom of the group. 

After seven rounds of La Liga Diego Simeone's men have four victories and a draw, delivering 13 points and a 5th spot in the standings. In a previous match Los Indios secured a 2:0 victory over Sevilla. Felipe, Llorente and Reguillon will miss the upcoming game. 

In the previous season Girona achieved a marvellous success and earned a promotion to La Liga. A 6th place finish brought a play-off spot, where team managed to beat Eibar and Tenerife. The Red-Whites got off to a decent start in a top-flight division. 

In seven rounds of La Liga team claimed two victories and a draw, which brought seven points and a 13th spot in the standings. After a victory over Valladolid (2:1) visitors have suffered back-to-back defeats. Team put up a poor offensive performance, scoring just ten goals. Lopez, Garcia, Herrera, Kebe, Martin, Stuani and Urena will miss the upcoming game.
