Rayo Vallecano vs Elche: prediction for the La Liga fixture

In the previous season Rayo Vallecano got off to a solid start in La Liga after a return from Segunda, but results eventually went downhill. Capital club put up a great performance in Copa del Rey, but got eliminated in the quarter-final. During the summer, Madrid club signed Raul de Tomas from Espanyol for 8,5 million euros and Unai Lopez - he came from Athletic Bilbao for a free agent. 

Team failed to impress at the start of a new season - in six rounds the Vallecans earned two victories and one draw, delivering seven points and a 12th spot in the standings. 

After a victory over Valencia (2:1) hosts suffered a defeat to Athletic Bilbao (2:3). Sanchez, Martin and Chavarria will miss the upcoming match. 

In the previous season Elche completed their main task and kept the La Liga spot. In 38 rounds team secured 11 victories and nine draws, delivering 39 points and a 15th spot in the standings. Team got off to a great start in Copa del Rey, visitors reached the round of 16, but eventually suffered a defeat to Real Madrid. 

During the summer club signed Ezequiel Ponce for 4 million euros and Roger Mati for 3 million. At the start of the season Francisco's men snatched a draw against Almeria (1:1) and lost all other matches, these results send them to the bottom of the standings. Team's defensive line put up a terrible performance, conceding 16 goals. In a previous match Valencians suffered a 0:3 defeat to Barcelona at Camp Nou. 

Lirola, Mascarell, Verdu and Milla will miss the upcoming game.
