In the semi-final Ostapenko didn't play a full match - her opponent, Emma Raducanu retired in the third set.

Russian FederationEkaterina Alexandrova also won one trophy in 2022 - she earned the trophy of Hertogenbosch grass tournament in June. After that success, Seoul is the first tournament, where Alexandrova surpassed the second round.
Alexandrova got an easy draw in South Korea. She was considered an overwhelming favourite in matches against Muhammad, Han Na-Ie, Lulu Sun and Tatiana Maria. In four matches Russian player lost only one set.
