Mallorca vs Almeria: prediction for the La Liga fixture

Mallorca managed to retain the La Liga spot at the end of the previous season. The Islanders also put up a great performance in Copa del Rey. They reached the quarter-final and got eliminated by Rayo Vallecano. 

In the second round of a new season the Red-Blacks got their revenge over the Vallecans, beating Madrid team in a head-to-head match. After five rounds the Pirates have five points, they are at the 13th spot in the standings. In the previous match team suffered a 1:4 defeat to Real Madrid. Greif, Kadewere and Ndiaye will miss the upcoming match. 

Almeria won the Segunda title in the previous season - team left no chance to the opponents and earned a promotion to La Liga. In 42 rounds the Red-Whites have recorded 24 victories and nine draws, delivering 81 points. Club's board brought a number of players into the team - Kaiky from Santos for 7 million euros, Alejandro Pozo from Sevilla for 3 million euros and Marko Milovanovic from Partizan for 3,5 million euros. 

Rubi's men got off to a great start in La Liga - a draw against Elche (1:1) and a victory over Sevilla (2:1) brought the team into the 14th spot, just behind Mallorca. De la Hoz, Nieto, Martos, Melero and Centelles will miss the upcoming game.
