In the offseason, RB Leipzig bought Timo Werner from Chelsea (20 million), Xaver Schlager from Wolfsburg (12 million), and David Raum, also from Wolfsburg (26 million). Domenico Tedesco's charges kicked off the new season with a defeat to Bayern Munich in the German Super Cup (1:3). Their Bundesliga campaign has not been very successful, either - with two wins and two draws, Leipzig are in 10th place in the table.
