Porto have been a bit inconsistent of late and suffered two defeats in the last four games across all tournaments. After three straight victories in the Primeira Liga, Sérgio Conceição's men lost to Rio Ave (1:3). In the following two league games, Porto celebrated success over Gil Vicente (2:0) and Chaves (3:0).

The Dragons were up against the group favourites Atletico Madrid in their first Champions League game. All three goals were scored after Mehdi Taremi was sent off nine munites before the final whistle. The Spanish side capitalized on their man advantage and eked out a win (1:2). 

The hosts will be without their top scorer Taremi, who is suspended, and Otavio, who suffered a rib injury.

Club Brugge are on a six-game winning streak. The Belgian champions lost points in games against Zulte Waregem (1:1) and Eupen (1:2), but since then, they collected 15 points from 5 league games and kept a clean sheet in the last three.

Carl Hoefkens's side didn't concede goals in their first Champions League match, either. Their opponents were Bayer Leverkusen, who are currently in terrible form. Club Brugge scored before halftime and maintained that advantage until the end of the game (1:0).

Wingers Tajon Buchanan and Noa Lang, as well as defender Clinton Mata, are sidelined through injuries. Skov Olsen and Ferran Jutglà will lead Brugge's attack - the two players have scored five goals each since the start of the season.
