Inter Milan had a slow start to their Serie A campaign. In the first two rounds, Simone Inzaghi's side beat Lecce (2:1) and Spezia (3:0), but when Inter faced more difficult opponents, they struggled to deliver successful results. The team had a decent start to the season - after a 2:1 victory over Monza, Il Toro held Lazio to a goalless draw in Rome. After that, they beat Cremonese (3;1), but failed to overcome Atalanta and lost with a score of 1:3. In the last round, Torino celebrated success over Lecce (1:0), climbing up onto the 6th line in the table.
