Wolverhampton vs Southampton: prediction for the English Premier League match

Wolverhampton hoped to get a ticket to the European competition, but they finished the late Premier League season in 10th place and couldn't deliver a successful performance in any of the domestic cups. In the summer, the club signed Gonçalo Guedes from Valencia (32 million), Nathan Collins from Burnley (24.3 million), and Hwang Hee-chan from RB Leipzig (16.7 million).

In the first five rounds of the 2022-2023 Premier League, Ralph Hasenhuttl's men suffered two defeats, drew against Leeds (2:2), beat Leicester City (2:1) and Chelsea (2:1). Those results put Soton in 9th place in the table.

The Saints started their League Cup campaign with a high-scoring victory over Cambridge United (3:0), thus reaching the third round of the tournament. In the upcoming game, the visitors will have to cope without Laviaand Livramento.
