Mallorca vs Girona: prediction for the La Liga fixture

Mallorca put up an inconsistent performance in the previous season, but retained the La Liga spot. Team also put up a decent performance in Copa del Rey, reaching the quarter-final. Team was eventually stopped by Rayo Vallecano. 

Start of the new season brought some unexpected results - the Red-Blacks managed to hold Athletic to draw in Bilbao (0:0), after that team managed to beat Rayo Vallecano (2:0), getting a revenge for a cup defeat. Hosts are currently at the 9th spot in the standings. Baba, Greif, Ndiaye and Rodriguez will miss the upcoming match. 

In the previous season Girona managed to satisfy their fans - team earned a 6th spot in Segunda and advanced into the playoffs, where Gironistas managed to beat Tenerife in a decisive match. During the summer club signed Miguel Gutierrez, who was bought from Real Madrid for 4 million euros. 

In the first round team suffered a defeat to Valencia (0:1), but a second match brought a victory over Getafe (3:1). After a recent defeat to Celta, visitors find themselves at 13th position. Riquelme, Martin, Kebe and Herrera will miss the upcoming game.
