Manchester City vs Nottingham Forest: prediction for the English Premier League fixture

Last season, Manchester City delivered a confident performance at the Champions League group stage. However, the team couldn't win the tournament: after beating Sporting CP and Atlético Madrid in the first two playoff rounds, the Sky-Blues lost to Real Madrid in the semifinal match.

Their Premier League campaign was fantastic. Pep Guardiola's men won the league for the second consecutive year, having earned 93 points from 38 games. In the summer, the club signed Erling Haaland (60 million) and Kalvin Phillips (48.75 million).

The Sky-Blues were off to a good start in the new edition of the Premier League. They scored 13 goals in four games and recorded three victories and one draw. Last weekend, the City team beat Crystal Palace (4:2). 

Laporte, Ake, Grealish, Mbete-Tabu, and Phillips have been ruled out of this fixture. 

Nottingham Forest finished the 2021-2022 season in 4th place in the EFL Championship. In the playoffs, the Tricky Trees beat Sheffield United and Huddersfield, which allowed them to return to the Premier League after 23 years of absense.  

Taiwo Awoniyi (20.5 million), Neco Williams (20 million), and Moussa Niakhaté (10 million) have joined the club in the summer transfer window. In the first four Premier League games, Steve Cooper's men have collected four points. Last Sunday, they lost at home to Tottenham (0:2). 

Richards, Niakhate,and Mangala have been ruled out through injuries.
