Elche vs Real Sociedad: prediction for the La Liga fixture

In the previous season Elche put up a strong performance in Copa del Rey, reaching the round of 16. At that stage team was stopped by Real Madrid. In 38 rounds of La Liga the Green-striped ones have recorded 11 victories and nine draws, delivering 39 points and a 15th spot in the standings. 

Team's offensive line was not so great, only 40 goals were scored by Valencian team. During the summer, club signed Ezequiel Ponce for 4 million euros and Roger Marti for 3 million euros. In the first round of La Liga team suffered a 0:3 defeat to Betis, after that team drew to Almeria (1:1). Fidel and Verdu will miss the upcoming match due to injuries. 

In the previous season Real Sociedad failed to achieve success in the Super Cup and in Copa del Rey, fans were expecting a better result in these competitions. In 38 La Liga games the Royal Club claimed 17 victories and 11 draws, delivering 62 points and a 6th spot in the standings. 

During the summer club signed some new players, including Mohamed Ali-Cho for 11 million euros and Brahis Mendez for 14 million euros. Team started the new season with a 1:0 victory over Cadiz, but after that team suffered a heavy defeat to Barcelona (1:4).
